SuperFood Drive is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working to improving the health of food insecure populations by supporting hunger relief organizations to provide healthy food for people in need.
We have three main program areas, all of which involve hosting HEALTHY (SuperFood) drives for the local community. Since individuals typically respond to food drives by pulling cans from the back of pantries, SuperFood Drive focuses on transforming this process through community outreach and education to encourage healthy food donations in order to provide nutritious foods to those who would not otherwise have access to them.
Started in January 2009 in San Diego, California, SuperFood Drive pursues a vision in which every man, woman and child has access to nutritious food that is essential for an active and healthy life. SuperFood Drive makes a positive impact on the health of underserved populations with the help of very passionate volunteer team and exceptional community partners. SuperFood Drive views adequate access to healthy food as a social justice issue, and was inspired by the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the (recently updated) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SuperFood Drive is an effort to fight hunger and raise awareness about the importance of nutrition in America as well as abroad.
